Peter was commissioned (with Aeronwy Thomas, daughter of Dylan Thomas) by the Wales International Center, New York, to write the first-ever DYLAN THOMAS WALKING TOUR OF GREENWICH VILLAGE, NEW YORK, which appears on their website and major American and British tourism/websites.
Potential tourists to New York are able to download (PDF - 1540Kb) and print it and use as a practical Guide to "follow in Dylan's footsteps".
It contains essential biographical material on Dylan, information on his American tours, information - literary and basic facts - on each place connected with Dylan, and an Addenda: brief notes on other people and places mentioned throughout the Guide, such as Swansea, Laugharne, American novelist Norman Mailer, and John Malcom Brinnin, Dylan's Tours organiser.
The publication coincided with the release of a new film about the life of Dylan Thomas called The Edge of Love , which stars Matthew Rhys, Keira Knightley, and Sienna Miller. Catrin Brace, who works for the Welsh Assembly Government in New York said: "Fifty years after his death, there is still a huge interest both in Wales and the USA in Dylan Thomas and his work. Visitors will be able to gain a strong sense of the real man behind "the brassy orator" with "the lovely gift of the gab", as well as giving people a real feel for the Greenwich Village of the 1950s."

DYLAN THOMAS TRIBUTE TOUR 2008
In March 2008 Peter toured America for six weeks, with Aeronwy Thomas, poet and daughter of Dylan Thomas, on the Dylan Thomas Tribute Tour, organised by Stanley H. Barkan, in consultation with Vince Clemente.
He and Aeronwy read their own poetry, performed a section from UNDER MILK WOOD and gave talks on Dylan Thomas at many venues, including Wellesley College, Knox College, Iowa International Writers Workshop, Walt Whitman Birthplace, University of Michigan, University of Colorado, Salem State College, Chicago Vitalist Theatre, California's Monterey College, The Grolier Bookshop in Boston, New York's National Arts and Film Club, Long Island's The North Sea Poetry Scene, Long Island's The Stevenson Academy, the Mid-Manhattan Library, New York Public Library, The Poetry Center at Passaic College in New Jersey, the Wales International Center in New York, The White Horse Tavern in New York, and many more. They were interviewed for American radio stations and national newspapers.

Peter was writer-in-residence for two months in Big Sur, California, in 2015, 2014, 2013, and 2012, where he also participated in events in Monterey and at the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur. He was in Salem, Boston, and New York for various events in 2014, whilst participating in the NEMLA Conference in Pennsylvania. He was in Salem and Boston in 2013, for various events and as a participant at the NEMLA Conference in Boston.
He visited America in late September, 2011. He gave readings, with American poets John Dotson and Peter Fulton, at the Robert Frost Farm Museum in New Hampshire, the famous The Grolier Poetry Bookshop in Boston, where he read with Aeronwy Thomas, daughter of Dylan, in 2008, the Rockport Public Library, and Thoreau’s Walden Pond. His verse drama, THE BOY AND THE LION’S HEAD, about his childhood on Kilvey Hill, was performed by the recently formed The Seventh Quarry Drama Group at several venues in Boston. The Seventh Quarry Drama Group comprised Swansea actresses and actors, Jill Goodwin-Croke, Julie-Anne Grey, Steve Grey, and Luke Williams, a pupil at Bishopston School, Swansea, who played The Boy in the verse drama, and American actor James Ellis.
Peter visited America in July 2011 for two months. He resided in Big Sur from July to September as a poet-in-residence, the guest of poet and artist Carolyn Mary Kleefeld. His second American book, POEMS FROM A CABIN ON BIG SUR (Cross-Cultural Communications, New York), had its American launch at the Henry Miller Library, Big Sur, organised by Carmel’s John Dotson and Big Sur’s Patricia Holt. He also participated in other events, including an inaugural Los Angeles American/Korean Festival, arranged by his American publisher Stanley H. Barkan.
Peter was invited to New York by the Welsh Assembly Government in New York for the media launch of the revamped DYLAN THOMAS WALKING TOUR OF GREENWICH VILLAGE on March 4th, 2011. It has been officially taken over by the city's New York Fun Tours operator, and is now offered as a weekly tour to those visiting New York. It is in memory of Aeronwy, Dylan's daughter. The launch was part of WALES WEEK USA: March 1 - 6, 2011. Peter originally wrote the Tour in 2008, with the support of Aeronwy.
Peter visited America in Spring 2010. He was visiting poet at Binghamton University, hosted by Maria Mazziotti Gillan and his New York publisher Stanley H. Barkan; and he gave readings and talks at various venues in New York, including Baruch College. He then travelled to Big Sur, Cailfornia, for a series of readings. He resided there as a writer-in-residence, hosted by poet and artist Carolyn Mary Kleefeld, for the month of May. His recently published verse drama, THE BOY AND THE LION'S HEAD, had its world-premiere in Carmel, California, directed and produced by John Dotson, a poet, dramatist, and biographer. Martin Shears, a Monterey singer-songwriter, was commissioned to write an Overture for the performance of the verse drama.
He went to Romania in November 2009 as a visiting poet. He attended the launch of the publication of his verse drama, THE BOY AND THE LION'S HEAD, gave poetry readings, and gave talks and workshops at three colleges. He was hosted by Dr. Olimpia Iacob.
Peter was invited to America in April and May 2009. He was the guest of the University of Colorado, in Boulder, Colorado, for a week of events at the World Conference in April. He carried out a series of readings and literary talks in New York, where he was hosted by Professor Sultan Catto of City of University of New York, The Graduate Center, and his American publisher Stanley H. Barkan in May. Whilst in New York, he also participated in a new project with Stanley, the filming of the DVD WALKING WITH DYLAN THOMAS, which is based on the popular DYLAN THOMAS WALKING TOUR OF GREENWICH VILLAGE, NEW YORK, written by Peter and Aeronwy. The DVD features Peter as narrator, poetry readings by a group of Cross-Cultural Communications poets, including Stanley, and songs about Dylan Thomas by singer-songwriter Terry Clarke.
He was invited to participate in the 2008 International Festival of Poetry in Satu Mare, Romania. He read his own poetry, which has been translated into Romanian by Dr. Olimpia Iacob, and gave a talk on Dylan Thomas. His talk on Dylan Thomas was published in POESIS, edited by Romanian poet George Vulturescu, who was also the organiser of the Festival.
He was invited to Serbia, in September 2006 and September 2007, by the Serbian Writers' Conference, to participate in the 43rd and 44th International Meeting of Writers in Belgrade.
In November 1997, he visited America for ten days to give readings to organisations and schools in New York and New Jersey. One of his readings was with New York's Raymond R. Patterson, a Blues poet and a lecturer on the Blues form at New York University. He was commissioned by the WESTERN MAIL, the national newspaper of Wales, to write pieces entitled POSTCARD FROM NEW YORK. They covered his schedule and his stay at the Chelsea Hotel, where Dylan Thomas stayed prior to his death, and an interview with David Slivka, the sculptor who made the death mask of his friend Dylan Thomas.
